Wall Street Giants Industrializing Blockchain Proofs-of-Concept from Project Guardian
Wall Street giants are making strides in industrializing proofs-of-concept developed within the blockchain experiment Project Guardian. JPMorgan’s blockchain platform Onyx is focusing on turning the learnings from a pilot program with the Monetary Authority of Singapore into tangible products, with a particular emphasis on investment fund tokenization. Stephanie Lok, product manager at JPMorgan, shared these insights at the TokenizeThis event in Miami on May 10.
Meanwhile, asset manager WisdomTree is also heavily involved in blockchain-enabled finance migration. Maredith Hannon, head of business development for WisdomTree, discussed the company’s efforts in portfolio personalization and blending portfolios with checking accounts at the same event.
WisdomTree is exploring offering various on-chain services under a single interface for clients, including tokenized portfolios and traditional banking services. The company aims to provide clients with more effective use of their money, such as earning higher interest rates in money market funds compared to traditional checking accounts.
Project Guardian, launched in May 2022, focuses on exploring decentralized finance (DeFi) applications and asset tokenization in wholesale funding markets. Participants in the initiative include JPMorgan, DBS Bank, SBI Digital Asset Holdings, and WisdomTree.
Overall, Wall Street giants are actively working to bring blockchain technology into mainstream finance, with a focus on creating innovative products and services for their clients.
